Barb was born in Independence, MO, on September 7, 1943, to Marvin Willis and Marjorie Jean (Butler) Youngs. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1961 and went on to earn her Associate's Degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO, in 1963. On August 17, 1963, she was united in marriage to William Allen Dawson, and they were later blessed with two daughters, Cindy and Becky.
Barb began her career at the “original” Bank of Belton. When her daughters were born, she stepped away from the workplace and took great pride in being a devoted homemaker and mother during their grade school years. Once the girls were older, Barb transitioned back into the workforce as the office manager for Dr. Paul Perme, DDS. For many years, she was a familiar, welcoming face to the community, serving faithfully until her retirement in 2000.
Barb was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William (Bill) Dawson; her parents, Marvin and Marjorie Youngs; and her brother and sister-in-law, Gilbert and Colleen Youngs.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Dawson Willey (Pat) and Becky Dawson Fields (Adam); and her sister, Kathy Youngs Davies (Cris).
Her grandchildren:
• Children of Cindy and Pat Willey: Chris Bailey, Nick Willey, Ciera Willey Bailey (Kyle)
