

Barry Alan Toms (67) was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away on May 10, 2025. Barry was a valued long-term employee, as Security Guard, until his retirement in 2017 from Copaken Brooks Commercial Real estate, in downtown Kansas City. He enjoyed residing at Armour Oaks Senior Living, where he acquired many close friendships with staff and fellow residents.
Barry was preceded in death by his birth mother, Nora Cranfield and his father Phil Toms, brother Phillip Toms and sister Debra Allen Fridley, Barry’s grandparents Martha & Floyd Cates, who lovingly raised Barry from a very early age. He has many family members which includes uncles, aunts, cousins and nephew Samuel Mork who have gone before him.
Barry is survived by three siblings, his sister Sharon Buth (husband Terry), Lynn Mork (husband David), brother Wade Cranfield (wife Toni) and he has many nieces and nephews who reside in Wisconsin. Barry also has surviving family here in Kansas City. He has 51 surviving cousins. Barry grew up in the same household as his five surviving aunts, Theresa Moreno (husband Richard), Sallie Steele (husband Rich), Karen Padilla (husband Joe), Rita Tarantino (husband Joe) and Jeanette Stevens (husband Steve). His nephew Richard Allen (wife Mindy) and their daughter Ellie.
Funeral Mass will be at Curé of Ars Catholic Church in Leawood, Kansas on Saturday, May 31st at 11am. Burial Service at Holy Family Cemetery in Eudora, Kansas on June 2nd at 11am.
