Betty June Krause, 93, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026. Betty was a shining light, and she let it shine-all the time. She loved most everyone she met and was in turn beloved by so many. If you were in her orbit, you likely felt special to her; you were.
"Thankful" was the theme of her life. She was always "counting" her blessings. (IYKYK) She didn't take anything for granted.
She married her high school sweetheart. She loved being a grandma to her many grandchildren and traveling, near and far. Betty and Rano were always ready for an adventure and loved to have fun. She was a loving mother of 4 children who all knew if they needed anything, she would be right there to help. In fact, everyone who knew her knew she would be there for them at any time, any place, for any reason. She was someone you could count on--helpful, loyal and generous to a fault. She loved to make things for others. If you knew her, she may have made you a quilt. Even the post woman received a quilt.
She created a warm and inviting home, cleaning and clearing before anything had a chance to settle. We never knew upon coming home where the furniture would be, or any of our stuff that we had left laying about.
She loved music, singing with her musical family as a child, and singing in the choir at Holy Trinity for most of her life. The melodies of Eddy Arnold and other favorite artists drifted through the house many afternoons as background music to her life.
She was a whirlwind, always up to something or somewhere, but you could bet it would be about sharing good times with the people she loved. And there would be food (she was an incredible cook).
The planning of get togethers was one of her favorite things to do. It brought her joy to plan church events, family reunions, and family celebrations.
She was a lifelong follower of Jesus. She went to church every Sunday (even in other states and cities), volunteered for many church duties over the years, and prayed faithfully.
We are so thankful for her beautiful presence in our lives and we will miss her so very much, but we are also rejoicing that she has received a new body in Christ and has been reunited with the love of her life, who has surely been watching over her during their time apart.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Rano Carl Krause, her parents: John Henry Edde and Jetta Francis Edde (Rains), brothers: Wendell Rains, Charles Browder, John Ross, and Wallace Dee, Sisters: Cleta Fay, Wilda Joy, Martha Jo, and Brooksie Jane. She is survived by her four children: Steve (Cindy), Brenda (Bruce), Tim (Bonnie), Lori (Bill); her sister-in-law Joyce Deckard; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
