On the 15th day of October, 2021, surrounded by loved ones, Carolyn took her final breath. Seventy years earlier, in 1951, the world welcomed Carolyn and so became a brighter place. Its light dimmed with her passing, but Heaven welcomed her with open arms.
Growing up, Carolyn had the chance to live in South Dakota and Alaska before moving to Missouri where she graduated from Grandview High School. She worked many different places in her life, including the highlight of her career - Time Warner Cable. She rose up through the ranks, ultimately becoming IT Manager in the Kansas City area, retiring a few years ago. Since then, she kept busy working part-time helping others, including her most recent positions with Eggers Tree Service and BAC Associates.
Throughout her life, she loved to travel all over our beautiful nation and capture it in photographs. Whether a small bee perched on a flower or a grand vista in the West, her pictures captured the beauty and majesty all around us. Most importantly, in this beauty, she saw the hand of a Creator Whom she loved dearly and to Whom she was growing ever-closer. Her Lord Jesus was the center of her life, her reason for living and loving and giving and sharing. Carolyn lived a full and warm life, filled with this love and kindness. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Carolyn was predeceased by her father James, brother Jerry, and sister-of-the-heart Randi. She is survived by her mother Margaret; daughter Sherry and grandson Trevor; siblings Harry, Bob, Marilyn, Helen and Judy, as well as many nieces and nephews; and her family-of-the-heart: Angie, Mike, Bob, Doug, and their beloved children.
A celebration of life memorial will be held at New Life Community Church at 17935 S Moonlight Rd in Gardner, Kansas on Saturday, October 30. The visitation will be beforehand at noon central; the service will be at 1 PM.
In remembrance of Carolyn's life, you can make a charitable donation to Christians United for Israel (cufi.org).
