

Dorothy Irene Godfrey Rollins of Burleson, TX passed away October 3, 2010. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, October 10 at McGilley and George Funeral Home 12913 Grandview Rd. Grandview MO 64030. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 11 followed by internment in the Noland Family Cemetery at 99th and Lane Ave, Kansas City, MO.
Dorothy was born on November 12, 1913 in Kansas City, MO and was raised in the Blue Hills and Hickman Mills area. She married Russell “Mutt” Leslie Rollins on December 7, 1940. Dorothy and Russell eventually settled in Independence, Kansas. She was an accomplished orchid and flower grower, photographer and china painter. Dorothy was a member of the First Christian Church, Independence, KS; the Orchid Society of Tulsa, OK and Church Women United, Independence, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years. Dorothy is survived by her four children, Kedron of Littleton, CO, Tom of Crowley, TX, Nancy (Johnson) of Lee’s Summit, MO and Joe of Shawnee, OK. She will be greatly missed by her children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
