With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Elizabeth Ellen Griddine, age 53 of Grandview, MO who was taken from us far too soon on Friday, February 21, 2025. She was such a special soul, with a heart the size of the ocean. Her kind heart, lover for her family, friends, and those that she had never met before were blessed to know her. She had a smile that lit up a room, a laugh that when you heard it, you knew she was in the room and the ability to throw an amazing party no matter how big or small. She was smart, creative and had a love of flowers and the knack of creating beautiful arrangements with them and would give them away to friends and loved ones as well as her business Floral With a Twist! She enjoyed arts and crafts with her grandkids, friends, friends children, as well as with her BFF on cruises. She was always ready for a cruise and open to any agenda! Even though her time here on earth was short, the love and joy she shared with those she knew and loved was truly felt deeply. She will be so very missed by all of us, but know that those that called her mimi will miss her beyond measure, and were the light of her life as well.
Elizabeth graduated with her Associates in Arts in 1999 from Longview Community College, and her Bachelors of Science in 2003 from Avila College. She went on and earned her Auto Cad Certificate in 2009 from Kansas City Community College as well as her Project Management Fundamentals Certificate in 2015 from University of Central Missouri. She loved to learn, teach and be creative which enabled her to excel in restaurant project management, design and sales. No matter where she worked she forged great working relationships with those she worked with.
Elizabeth was born on September 24, 1971 on Richards Gebaur AFB, in Cass County, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her loving parents James Sr. and Norma Duffman, brothers Carl Duffman, and Keith Duffman, as well as her nephew Scott Duffman.
Surviving family at home include her husband Gary (Grandview, MO) whom she shared this life with since 1991. She also leaves her sons Stefon Griddine (Raymore, MO), Shawn Griddine (Brentwood, CA), and daughter Stephanie Griddine (Kansas City, MO). She leaves behind two amazing granddaughters Raiyelle and Keimara, that she shared such a special bond with. Sister Denise (Mike) Benavides (Kansas City, MO), brothers James Duffman Jr. (Knob Noster, MO) and Jerry (Trudy) Duffman (O’Fallon, IL). Along with multiple nieces and nephews that called her Aunt Beth or Auntie Liz, countless friends that consider her family will miss her beyond measure.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Elizabeth Griddines name to The American Cancer Society. Or, one thing that Elizabeth loved to do and passed along to others is to have a tree planted in her memory through A Living Tribute at http://www.alivingtribute.org/ .
