James Verlan Cullum

James Verlan Cullum, 72, of Grandview, MO passed away September 3, 2016. Visitation 10-11 am, Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am Friday, September 9 at Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 13000 Bennington Ave. Grandview, MO. Burial in Longview Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Contributions are suggested to the church.

Jim was born September 17, 1943 in El Centro, CA to Jesse and Effie Warren Cullum. He was a decorated 27 yr veteran volunteer of the Grandview Police Department and Sgt of Reserves Unit, 41 yrs Field Service Manager for Dean Machinery in Kansas City, MO. Jim was a 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus, basketball coach, served 10 yrs with Boy Scout Troop 531 and a Chiefs ticket holder for 45 yrs. He was a member of Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church.

Preceded in death by his parents, 6 siblings Thelma Cox, Alberta Gatlin, Vernon Cullum, Joyce Ward, Charles Cullum and Richard Cullum. Survived by wife of 52 yrs, Carolyn, 2 sons Kevin and Tracie Cullum, Toronto Canada and Chris and Michelle Cullum, Grandview MO; 2 sisters Madeline Cullum and Harriet Roach; 3 grandchildren Nick, Emily and Katie Jane Cullum.
