On September 14, 2026, Joyce Marie (Knight) Gfeller of Belton, Missouri, passed away after a 9-year battle with Alzheimer’s dementia at the age of 75.
Joyce was born in Gardner, Kansas, on February 20,1951 to Charles Lewis Knight and Virginia Mae (Austin) Knight. She graduated from Ruskin High School in 1969. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse who worked at Belton Hospital, the Belton Family Practice Center for 15 years, and her last 7 years at Millcreek Middle School before retirement.
She was one of the sweetest and most loving people to everyone who knew her. She was a Stephen Minister at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and loved visiting people who were homebound or just needing companionship. She would help anyone who needed it.
On September 6, 1970, she married Stephen Lee Gfeller. They had 3 sons, Christopher Stephen, Matthew Shane, and Joseph Michael Gfeller.
She is survived by her husband Stephen and her three sons. She is also survived by 3 Grandchildren, Isaac Christopher, Dakota Ryan and Kamiryn Nicole, the children of Joyce’s oldest son, Christopher and Angelique Falbo Gfeller. She is also survived by 8 siblings, David Charles Knight, Michael Glenn Knight, Virginia Louise Bushu, Theresa Annette Gardner, Linda Jeanne Love, Kathryn Denise Gladden, Thomas Lewis Knight, and Barbara Emily Berberich. One sister, Rosemarie Joan Knight preceded Joyce in death.
