Kathleen June Colgan, 89, of Grandview, MO, passed away at home Oct. 3, 2013. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Oct 9, 2013, McGilley & George Funeral Home, 12913 Grandview Rd, Grandview, MO, with visitation 10-11AM. Burial at 3:00PM, The Family Cemetery in Atchison, Kansas. Memorials to Red Bridge Baptist Church. She was born in Atchison, KS, on Feb 1, 1924, graduated from high school there and attended Atchison Business College receiving a Business Degree. Worked at The Topeka Capital Journal newspaper as a secretary for L R Benson. She was a member of the Lupus Foundation, Christian Women's Foundation Stone Croft Ministries and The Family Cemetery board. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Frances Mary Hundley Young, and husband, John W. Colgan, Sr. in 2001. She is survived by two sons, John W Colgan, Jr. and Craig Colgan, both of Grandview; three grandchildren, Kandi, Jeff and David.
