Linda graduated in 1964 from Central Missouri State University with a degree in English Language Arts and Math. She received her Masters in Teaching in 1990.
Linda Wilckens began her career in 1964 as a junior high math teacher in the Belton School District. From 1974 until her retirement in 2001, Linda taught algebra and geometry at the Belton High School. After retirement, Linda ran for the Belton School Board and was elected in 2003. She served on the school board for 18 years until the Spring of 2021.
In 2021, the Hillcrest Steam Academy was renamed the Wilckens Steam Academy at Hillcrest in recognition of the work and dedication to the Belton School District and community by Louis and Linda Wilckens. In 2024, Linda was inducted into the Belton High School Hall of Fame.
Linda has been a longtime resident of Belton. She was also an active member of the Belton Christian Church. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with her friends and family.
On August 15, 1964, Linda married Louis Colter Wilckens. They were blessed with two daughters, Laura and Lisa.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Lou), brother (Rick Majors), grandson (Billy Brown). Linda leaves behind her daughters, Laura Brown and Lisa Desjardins; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; one great-grand-daughter; and brother, David Majors (Cindy).
Linda was loved by many and will be missed by all.
