Matthew “Matt” Lee Smith, 58 passed away on June 29, 2026 in Lee Summit, Missouri. Matt was born on July 8, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri to William “Bill” and Sandra (Sprague) Smith. He will be remembered for the friendships he cherished and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him. He is survived by his brothers, Michael W. Smith (Brenda) of Washington, Missouri, and Mark D. Smith (Valie) of St. Cloud, Florida. He is also survived by his Uncle and Aunt, nieces, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Matt was preceded in death my his parents, his grandparents, an uncle and a niece. In accordance with Matt’s wishes, no public services will be held. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Overland Park, Kansas. Matt’s memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
