In Kansas City, he worked for Bendix for 39 years and ran Kelley and Sons Tractor Service. Throughout his life, he kept a large garden, planting and harvesting every year, and giving away most of what he grew to neighbors, friends, and family. He also partook in active service throughout his life, and could often be seen riding his tractor down Main Street to mow the lawn of his parish. When he wasn’t cheering on the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs, Max also loved sharing stories about life over drinks on his tailgate, back porch, or couch with those near to his heart. He leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, service, and faith.
