Michael Lynn Schooley, born on March 26, 1958, in Kansas City, Kansas, passed away July 19, 2026. He grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, where he attended Shawnee Mission South High School. During his high school years, Michael was an active member of the football and gymnastics teams, as well as the ROTC and the ROTC honor/color guard. He was also active in The Fellowship of Christian Athletes in high school. After graduating in 1976, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1977. Following his service, he spent the majority of his career working in construction.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Allene Schooley; his brother, Joseph Schooley; and his niece, Alicia Breiner.
He is survived by his two siblings, Debbie and Robert Schooley, and two nephews. He leaves behind his two daughters, Charee Michelle Wortman (Tony) and Katie Tramm (Kody); his four grandsons, Jacob Wortman, Philip Wortman, Isaiah Wortman, and Raylan Tramm; and his three great-grandchildren, Alesha, Rowan, and Avelynn.
