Patricia Bock

July 5, 1948October 10, 2011

Patricia Lee Bock, 63, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Monday, October 10, 2011. Visitation 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, a Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. at McGilley & George Funeral Home in Grandview. Pat was born July 5, 1948, in Paola, Kan. She was retired with 35 years of service from Kansas City Life Ins. Co. Pat lived her life for her grandchildren and her daughter and son-in-law. She so often did for others before herself including her dog, Penny, and cat, Baxter. During Sara's years of playing softball, she never missed one game. She carried this tradition on with Joseph and Caden's baseball games. She was an amazing woman who helped keep our household functioning and our laundry clean, and we were truly blessed to have her in our lives. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Frances and Wayne "Shorty" Smith. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Dale Ellett; grandchildren, Joseph and Caden Ellett; her twin sister, Peggy Sturgeon; brothers, David McAfee and Chuck Smith and many other family and friends. And after all these years, she was still married to my dad, Bob Bock. She will be missed dearly by all of us. She already is. Pat...you're one of the special mothers in my heart on this Mothers' Day. You are very missed and always remembered, and the daughter you raised is precious to me and to all of us. Thank you for the love and devotion you gave her as a Mother, and that she passes on to all of us.

Pat was such a sweet soul..I wish we had kept in contact more through the years, but I will never forget her.I can see her smile even now.I know she loved her family and they loved her..In the end, I think that's all that truly matters...

I remember so many good times during grade school and high school with Pat and Peggy. We had a lot of "slumber parites" where there was very little slumber going on. So many wonderful memories. My thought and prayer are with you all

So many memories . . . from 1st grade to college and first jobs in KC. As often happens, our paths took different directions but I have never forgotten the wonderful childhood shared with Pat and Peggy. My prayers to Peggy and family.
