Phoebe was graduated from Greenfield High School class of 1971. Just prior to graduation she married her high school sweetheart, Jimmie Hodson, and they began a long life together raising children and moving frequently for multiple employment opportunities. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 3, 2021. Phoebe loved reading books, taking care of her dogs, and bowling. But, most of all, Phoebe loved her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was happiest when all three of her boys were home with her.
In addition to her father, Norban Wallen, she was predeceased by her twin sister, Paula Clawson. Surviving in addition to her husband, Jimmie Hodson, are her sons, Norban Paul Hodson and his wife, Misty, of Clinton, MO; Jim Robert Hodson and his wife, Melissa, of Shawnee, KS; and Charles Austin Hodson and his wife, Jennifer, of Pleasant Hill, MO; ten grandchildren Garyn, Jewelyanna, Brody, Hunter, Carter, Triston, Addley, Tracker, Macklynn, and Rhyse; and five great-grandchildren; two brothers Phillip Wallen and his wife, Debbie, of Arcola, MO, Paul Wallen and his wife, Rhonda, of Arcola, MO; two sisters Patsy Hembree and her husband, Joe, of Arcola, MO, Pamela Grider and her husband, Greg, of Greenfield, MO; brother-in-law, Kenny Clawson of Lockwood, MO and many nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, January 24 at Stoney Point Church 803 W Dade 32, Jerico Springs, MO, 64756, presided by clergyman, Howard Hodson. Interment will be held at Newport Cemetery on 3 April with additional details to be provided at a later date. Those who wish to remember Phoebe in a special way may send flowers to Stoney Point for the service on Sunday, and/or make gifts in her memory to the "USO of Missouri" at usomissouri.org.
