Rilla G. VanDyke, formerly of Belton, Missouri, passed away on October 8, 2019 at John Knox Village in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Rilla was born in Kansas City, Kansas January 18, 1926 to Joe and Theresa (Short) Grover. She married Dayton Perkins in 1944 and had a son, Joseph Andrew Perkins. The couple lived in California briefly and after returning to Kansas City, Kansas she went to work for Bendix in 1952 until her retirement in 1986. Rilla married Bill Marble in 1957 and they had a son, William Hubert Marble. Rilla married her third husband, Lowell VanDyke, in 1969 and lived in Kansas City, Missouri until their retirement.
She enjoyed doing needlepoint and she and Lowell were very active with Gideons International. Rilla devoted much of her time to taking care of their home and enjoyed cooking and baking. Rilla is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lowell VanDyke; sister, Sarah Lenihan; brother, Joseph Grover, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Joseph A. Perkins and Bill Marble, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Family requests memorial contributions be made to Gideons International.
