To Bert, Elissa, and the Roger Family,
 There are no words that can ease the pain of this tremendous loss. 
 Amy, Diana Dergins Saabye and I were best friends growing up, the best of friends. It was a vital time in our lives that would create major, lifelong impressions on us all, and I am honored that Amy was by my side as we navigated our way down the fascinating, sometimes scary, but always hopeful river that is life. My memories are too many to share, but here are a few. I still have her handwritten recipes for those 'Sandy' cookies her mom taught us to make. It was with Amy that I had my first Cook's hot dog. With so many sleepovers those years, I felt like a welcome part of the family. My heirloom pearl ring is still in that old house where I lost it somewhere. Her mother taught me how clean a house could be and how serious a project ironing was. 
 I attended Camp Henry every summer of my young life and got these two best friends to go. We were the fearless Kiowa girls and barely managed to stay out of trouble. I envied Amy's beautiful clothes. And her voice. She was an incredible singer. I'd sit at my piano and play Carole King Tapestry and we would harmonize Sweet Seasons. On the chairlift at Sugarloaf, one of the most brilliant, magical vision I have of us was gently gliding up the hill harmoninizing the ending to our favorite "These are the Good Old Days," by Carly Simon. Can't remember who got the high part...But no one and I mean no one could belt out better the gutsy, soulful "Lay Down, Lay Down,' than were it Janis Joplin herself. Amy would always ask me why I sang like a wimp. 
 We had many firsts us three, we exerimented and crossed those milestones from adolescence to teen years, some not quite appropriate to reveal here :- safely with each other by our sides. 
 And Happy Birthday Amy! Remember your Sweet 16th? My parents were out of town and we planned a big celebration for you at my house. We wore full length dresses, decorated the house and made some awful green foamy punch. The event, which was attended by far more than we ever imagined, got so crashed, people were up in bedrooms, others stealing my parents meat out of the freezer, someone took the big wine bottle of pennies, a car peeled out over the lawn and there were even fistfights. But amazingly, WE GOT AWAY WITH IT! 
 There is so much more to share about our days together, as Amy and I began to reconnect in the last few years. The pride she took in her daughter, her lovely home, her cooking...Her longevity at Keebler is a huge lesson in perserverence and discipline. 
 Amy was the first one I ever heard say "warsh." Her distinctive voice and laughter, and sense of humor will ring in my soul forever. Amy, indeed, now may you enjoy a truly "Sweet, Sweet Season."

Amy, When I think of you I remember all the laughs we had at work, like the time you flushed the keys down the toilet ;- When you called me you thought I would be mad, but all I could was laugh and give you my keys!
