He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley (Black) Cigler; children Diane (Andy) Cole, Andrew H. Cigler III, and Beth Timmer; grandchildren Leah and Ally Cole, Kyia, Eva, Elijah, and Micah Timmer. He is also survived by his brother, George E. (Gail) Cigler, several nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
Andrew served in the United States Military, serving as a private in the Armed Forces, after being drafted in the early 1960s.
Andrew, or as many called him, Andy, deeply loved his family. In later years, his devotion to his wife was remarkable as she struggled with the effects of dementia. He was also devoted to his three children, always providing a strong role model that he showed through his actions rather than words. His example of faith, love, and devotion is one that his children will treasure forever.
Andy was an incredible example of patience; he was very quiet and a man of few words. When he shared stories or his wisdom, it was always a memorable moment to treasure. Andy could always be counted on when called upon or needed by others.
In his early years, Andy loved to be outdoors--camping, fishing, hiking, and riding his bike around his home at Gun Lake with his brother and friends. Andy had a love of cars; he could always tell you the make, model, and year of any car and be spot on. Andy transferred his love of cars into his work life. He worked for 40 years as an auto body painter. In retirement, Andy worked, taking loving care of his family, home, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will always be lovingly remembered for his love for sweets. Andy had a sweet tooth; he spent his final months enjoying chocolate bars, licorice (candy sticks), and countless bowls of Neapolitan ice cream.
