
DYKSTRA - Andrew Dykstra, age 89, of Byron Center, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 27, 2007. He was preceded in death by his five siblings and his daughter-in-law, Mary Dykstra.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Blanche Freyling Dykstra; his children, Susan Don Herrema, Gregg Rose Dykstra, Barbara Dan Blouw, and Thomas Martina Dykstra; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Hazel Dykstra, Vivian Freyling, and Tena Freyling.
Andrew lived by his favorite Bible verse, Romans 8:28, And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
He was a veteran of WWII and served in the Red Arrow Division in the Pacific.
The funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Byron Center First Christian Reformed Church 2450 - 85th SW with Pastor Tom Groelsema officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery.
The family will meet with relatives and friends on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home 2067 - 84th SW.
