Anne D. VanderPol

VANDER POL - Anne D. “Ted” VanderPol, age 88, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2006. Anne was born in Rock Valley, Iowa and graduated from the Methodist School for Nurses in Sioux City, Iowa. She served from January 1942 until January 1946 with the US Army Nurse Corps and was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. Following her military service, Anne completed a course in Anesthesia at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She also had been a member of the Methodist Church and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

Surviving are her brothers-in-law, Herbert Bartman of Grandville, and Joseph Jervis of Durham, NC; nieces and nephews, Ellen Jerry Lyons of NC, Elizabeth Ed Martinez of MA, Thomas Amy Jervis of NC, Keith Vicki Bartman of Jenison, Karla Rae VanOverloop of Sparta, Ross Marge Bartman of Marne, and Greg Sharon Bartman of Hudsonville; many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Friday, 2 p.m., at the Cook Memorial Chapel east building, 4235 Prairie SW. Interment will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park.

Relatives and friends may meet Anne’s family Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Those unable to attend the visitation or Funeral Service may sign the family’s Memory Book at www.cookfuneralservices.com.
