

She found Jesus as a child attending Woodward Avenue Baptist Church. She was a member of the class of 1968 at South High School and a graduate of Westbrook Beauty College. Arlene started Jenison Family Haircare and was active in the business for over 25 years and was known for her carefully thought out generosity. She was an avid golfer and faithful supporter of the football programs of Unity Christian, Jenison High, and GVSU. Arlene enjoyed remodeling and interior design projects for their home and several condo projects. She will be remembered for her delicious “holiday baked beans and meatballs”, her contagious laugh and smile, and her brutal sense of humor, and her famous quotes of “oh bunk”, and “It doesn’t cost any more to be nice.” She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles and her and grandson, Oliver Jay.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Larry Treece; sons Larry Jr. “Obie” and Tracy Treece, Lance “Colonel” and Sarah Treece, Luke “Duke” and Jodee Treece, and Lenny “Benner” and Tracy Treece; grandchildren, including the recent “littles”, Larry III, Cody, Austin, Carson, Tyler, Michael, Tucker, Tatum, and Bryce; brothers and sisters Rich, Pat, Evonne, Gary Wohlford, and Dusty, Sharon, Tammy, and Scott Elliston; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James Treece, Wayne (Trudy) Neu, Ross (Louise) Neu, and Joy Lynn Treece; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; her “adopted mother” Leona Vander Markt; special friends Mark and Mary Beth Meijer, Mike and Jannie Gomoll, Ray and Karen Palmitier, Tom and Ilene Tomson, Roger and Raynell Blanton, and Jan and Larry Stanton; her Marquette Trails Girls Golf League, the Gulf Shores Condo Card Group, and the Golden Girls (Raynell, Ilene, Jan, and Terry).
Arlene’s Celebration of Life Service, followed by an ice cream reception, will be 7 PM, Tuesday July 10, 2018 at Sunnybrook Country Club, 642 Port Sheldon St., Grandville with Pastor Todd Ponstein officiating. Relatives and friends may meet her family Tuesday from 6-7 PM.
Arlene’s family expresses a heartfelt thank you to the Spectrum Oncology Unit (5), Progressive Care (6), Spectrum Hospice, Doctors Chen, McCormick, and Gustavo Cumbo Nacheli, and their staff. Honorable mention goes to the famous Kim Mohr, Keytruda Jen, and “Stick-em” Kayla at Lemon Holton, and a special “thank you” to Tim Horton Donuts (Wilson Ave).
