Armando Leonides Pastrana-Garcia

With heavy hearts we share the loss of Armando Leonides Pastrana-Garcia of Grand Rapids, MI. Armando passed Monday, April 28, 2025, just a few days after celebrating his 71st birthday. He will always be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Armando immigrated to Michigan in 1996 from Holguin, Cuba with his parents, his wife of 40 years, Ana Martinez-Ruiz, and their two children Armando Pastrana-Ruiz and Ana Pastrana-Ruiz. Together, they have four grandchildren to whom he was a proud Papi (Abuelo): Antonio Osvaldo Ruiz (20), Alejandro Adam Keuvelaar (12), Valentino Leonides Pastrana (10), and Leonardo Walter Pastrana (5). The boys could never escape the house without a kiss on the head and several Adios’.

Papi enjoyed spending time with the family dogs, especially “the girls” Lola, Bella, and Po. He will always be remembered for his fierce loyalty to family, his boisterous voice, and his love for WWE Wrestler Ray Mysterio. His memory will be cherished, and the sound of his laugh remembered.

While it’s hard for us to say goodbye, there’s comfort in knowing that Armando now eternally rests beside his parents, Armando and Eliva, who surpassed him.
