Barbara Jean Pennington

Barbara "Barb" Pennington, age 91, passed peacefully to her glory August 4, 2024. Barb was born June 10, 1933 to Harold and Frances (Sommerdyke) Spratling. Barb is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Pennington; and brothers Robert, Gordon, Donald, and Ronald. She is survived by her sister, Susan (Spratling) Piette; brother-in-law, William Pennington; sister-in-law, Ella Mae (Pennington) Kolk; and many nieces and nephews.

If it’s true that a life well loved is a life well lived, then Barb’s life was well lived indeed. Barb was deeply loved by her children Cathy (Fred) Standish, Rex (Charlotte) Pennington, Ross (Christy) Pennington, Rance (Beth) Pennington, and Stacy Czinder; grandchildren Joshua (Jessica), Matthew (Michelle), Justin, Andrew, Taylor, Dylan, Lorelle, Jackson, Caleb; and great-grandchildren Rory, Cole, Evan, and Liam - all of whom she loved fiercely in return.

Barb leaves behind a legacy of hope, love, laughter, strength, and grace that has enriched the world and the lives of those who knew her.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 3-4 p.m. prior to service.
