

She was born in Leek Staffordshire, England the daughter of Harry Williamson and Elsie Hardeman. She was preceded in death by her husbands Gilbert Kohlhaas in 1978, and Merrill Forbes in 2012.
She is survived by her children, Kelvin (Julie) Kohlhaas, Janet Stanke, Gary (Marie Gaspari) Kohlhaas, Phillip (Paula) Kohlhaas, Michael (Colleen) Kohlhaas; step-children, Diane Forbes, Steve (Kathy) Forbes, James (Luann) Forbes, David (Deborah) Forbes, John (Cathy) Forbes; nine grandchildren, Monica (Robert) Fulton, Jason (Ashley) Stanke, Melissa (James) Pozenel, Christopher Kohlhaas, Stephanie (Mark) Whitfield, Sol (Erin) Kohlhaas, Kymberlyn Kohlhaas, Mikala Kohlhaas, Konner Kohlhaas; and nine great-grandchildren, Cassidy Fulton, Zachary Fulton, Devin Stanke, Riley Allen, Ophelia Pozenel, Tristan Pozenel, Addie Jo Whitfield, Maisey Whitfield and Ellamay Kohlhaas; sisters, Jill (Colin) Riley, Carol (Graham) Lownds, and brother Donald (Maureen) Swarbrook, all of England.
Betty was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Jenison for 46 years and also a member of the Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association (TBPA). Betty was a homemaker extraordinaire and an expert knitter. Family was most important to Betty and she will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to services on Friday at the Chapel.
