PATTERSON - Betty J. Patterson, age 77, of Byron Center, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, September 20, 2005.
She is survived by her children Arlin, Lawrence, Sharon Metzner, Ronald, Randal, Dennis, Brian and Michael and their spouses; her 31 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her half-sister Rexine Kersey and her dearly loved cousins.
Besides her love for her family, she will be thought of as a Sunday school teacher, a cub scout leader, a den mother and a mentor for “Kids Hope.” Her church meant so much to her and the Lord it represented. Mom was involved in the United Methodist Women, including 12 years as a district officer and many more in her local church. She had a very real and personal relationship with her Lord and talked about Him often. The Lord gave mom a gift of speaking to others and sharing his love, what God can do for them as well. Mom was always there for her children. Mom, we love you and you will be missed.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, at the Byron Center United Methodist Church, 2490 Prescott St. SW.
The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center, 2067 84th St. SW.
