He is survived by his mother, Sarah; his father, Dennis; his brothers Dan & Ryan; his sister Stephanie; and niece, Aleigha.
Brett had a deep love for every human he connected with. His love for people was equally as strong as his love for music. Brett's passion for music never wavered. He started playing guitar in elementary school. With every instrument he picked up and played, his soul's voice sang through. In the wise words of Bob Dylan, "At times in my life, the only place I have been happy is when I am on stage." If you knew Brett, he was the happiest while playing music. He was the happiest when reading a book, learning new things, and soaking up every ounce of knowledge he could. He was the happiest holding a beer in his hand, laughing, and enjoying life with his friends. He was the happiest when traveling, experiencing new things and exploring new places. He was happiest sharing music he loved with the people he loved. He was the happiest when his dad brought him to a guitar shop. He was happiest when his mom gave him a hug and kiss. He was the happiest when teasing his brothers and sister. He was the happiest being Uncle Brett. He was the happiest being a friend. He was gentle, caring, quick-witted, beyond talented...and the biggest love of all. For anyone that crossed paths with Brett, it was a pleasure. A fond memory. A warm smile. A big hug. You could feel his kindness just by looking into his eyes. Brett made a lasting impression to everyone he came in contact with. He will be deeply missed by many.
Please join his family in celebrating his life on Thursday, August 29 from 3-7 p.m. at Caledonia Lake Side Park - 370 N Lake St. SE, Caledonia, MI 49316.
