Bruce Edward Fogerty Jr.

September 27, 1941October 9, 2021

Bruce "Jake" E. Fogerty Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior October 9, 2021.

Jake was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen Fogerty; stepdaughter, Deena Moore; two siblings; and his parents. Jake will be dearly missed by his four children Bruce Fogerty (Mary), Kathy Shamali (Jon), Ron Boot (Mary), Colleen Bolthouse (Bryan); 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jake balanced his love for family with serving the community. He worked for the City of Wyoming for nearly 30 years in the capacity of EMT, police officer, and detective. His concern for others was marked by his lifetime of opening his home to foster children and working as an active volunteer nearly 18 years at The Cafe of Life in Bonita Springs, Florida.

In his spare time Jake enjoyed cooking, owning and operating a restaurant, traveling with Doreen, and spending time with friends and family.

The family welcomes you to a celebration reception from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the church he attended - Cornerstone Church, 2730 - 56th Street, Wyoming MI 49418.

Those wishing to offer an expression of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to Cafe of Life - 26724 Nomad Dr., Bonita Springs, FL 34135. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at

It was sad to see that our old friend and neighbor From Wyoming Park is gone. Bruce and Doreen and family lived on the other side of our back yard fence in the '70's and our kids played together.(do you remember, Coleen)? We still talk about the 4th of July pig roasts and then fireworks at Lamar Park. Our deepest sympathies go out to the entire family.
