Char retired from AT&T in 2011 after a 32-year career. She had a warm and caring personality and cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchild. She took an interest in the lives of those whom she met, and she would keep up with each person. Char enjoyed watching a good thunderstorm roll through, The Game Show network, or NASCAR and cheering on her favorite driver of all time, Dale Earnhardt (#3). Char had a musical ear and loved to play the piano, especially old hymns and movie scores. She will be so deeply missed.
Char leaves behind her son, Jason (Melissa) Poll; grandchild, Calvin; mother, Joan Poll; siblings Kathy Vernon, Bette Golembiewski, Judy (Tim) Ronda, Steve Poll; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Char was preceded in death by her father, Roger Poll; siblings-in-law John Vernon and Greg Golembiewski; and uncle, Gordon Poll.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 2-4 p.m. prior to the service. In memory of Char and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hand2Hand Ministries. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in Char’s online guestbook.
