Clyde E. Walker II, age 79 of Pierson, Michigan, was born on March 4, 1941, and passed away peacefully at home with his family gathered around him on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Clyde was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Ruth and John Bosma; father, Thomas Walker; sister, Sharon Timmerman; and stepbrothers Mike and Curt Bosma. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Walker; stepmother, Dorothy Walker; his children Deborah Dale (Bruce), Brian Walker (Lori), Diane Rycenga (Brock), and Clyde Walker III (Charlotte); his 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one on the way.
Clyde was hardworking, a proud patriot, and family man. He graduated from Portage High School in 1959 and married his high school sweetheart, Sue. He attended Michigan State University, where he earned honors in ROTC and a bachelor's degree in agriculture. Upon graduation, he entered into the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant and had two tours in Vietnam. Following the war, he earned his MBA at the University of Oklahoma. Clyde and Sue raised four beautiful children and traveled the world together. He retired from the military after 22 years and became an entrepreneur. Clyde and Sue moved back to Michigan in 2007.
Clyde loved the outdoors, gardening, his dog, and his classmates. But most of all, he adored his lifelong soulmate, Sue, and the life and family they shared together. Clyde, you will be dearly missed!
There will be a visitation held Friday, November 27, 2020 from 11am - 2pm, at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans.
