Cody James Inman

Staff Sgt. Cody James Inman, age 28, of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, formerly of Byron Center, passed away unexpectedly May 19, 2018 and went to his heavenly home. He was preceded by his grandparents Terry and Sandy Inman.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lauren (Kryska) Inman; their children Emery and Oakley Inman; his father, Michael Inman, and mother, Wendy Inman; siblings Christina Vandermyde, Andrew Inman, Samuel Inman, and Troy Inman; grandparents Dave and Jan Weinert and Gordon Huston; great-grandma, Bonnie Morey; father and mother-in-law Chad and Jan Kryska; brothers-in-law Logan (Katelyn) Kryska, Calvin Kryska and Dawson Kryska; many extended family and friends; and his Ranger Buddies.

Cody enlisted in the Army on August 20, 2008. He attended Basic Combat Training in Fort Benning, GA, and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, GA. Cody volunteered to serve as a Ranger and after completion of the Basic Airborne Course in Fort Benning, GA, he subsequently attended the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program 1. He was assigned to the Regimental Special Troops Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment for Fort Benning and then later served in 2D Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. During his time within the Regiment, SSG Inman completed seven combat deployments.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 28, at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., SW, Grandville, MI. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, at Cook Memorial Chapel, and one hour prior to services on Monday. Military Honor to be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens following services.
