Constance L. Morris

MORRIS, Constance L. "Connie" Morris, age 90 of Jenison, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 8, 2010. Connie was born to John S. and Hassie Martin Cato of South Carolina on July 12, 1920. She was preceded in death by her brother Benjamin Cato, sisters Eddie Henderson and Virginia Morall Thurmond. She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 68 years Charles F. Morris; children Charles F. Sandra Morris, Jr. of North Carolina, Patricia M. David Milbourn of Hudsonville, MI; grandchildren, Michael Kelly Milbourn of Jenison, MI, Jeffrey Renee Milbourn of San Rafael, California, and Jennifer Morris Wayne Biever of Denver, Colorado; one great-granddaughter Jane Morgan Biever; siblings, W.E. Cato, John, Sibley, Lake, Gerald, Irvin and Annis.

Connie was a strong, independent young woman who faithfully raised her children while her military husband was flying special missions for the Air Force. Family and friends described her as the classic "Southern Lady" showing hospitality to all who entered her home. No dinner was complete without a tablecloth, silverware, china and flowers. Faith, church, and family were the bedrock foundations upon which she built and lived her long life. She is now among the great cloud of witnesses who surround us with their love and legacy.

The memorial service will be held 11:30 am Wednesday at Parkwood Presbyterian Church in Jenison. Visitation will be from 10:30 am to 11:15 am Wednesday at the Church.
