Dale Eugene Wagner

WAGNER - Dale E. Wagner, age 63, of Jenison, went peacefully to be with Jesus on Sunday, December 30, 2001 after a very long and courageous struggle with lung disease. Waiting for him there were his parents, Fred and Laurraine Tudor Wagner; infant sister Joy; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Eleanor Seward Harbison.

He is survived by his very best friend and love of his life, wife Joy Harbison. His children, Michelle and Corey Davis, Jamie and Eric Carlson, and Brooke and Karen Wagner were blessed to have such a loving father and role model. Bapa’s blue eyes sparkled even brighter when his grandchildren, Megan, Lindsay, Ashley, and Christian were around. He was also very pleased to have Laura and Pam join us. His brothers, Lynn Bev Wagner, Larry Sharon Wagner, Mike Karen Wagner; sisters-in-law, Sue Ken Holsinger, Kim Ken Kolbe; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews will remember Dale, Newt, Big Red and Uncle Dale with great love and pride.

Dale was a hard working man who accomplished much and talked about it little. Most importantly, he was always there for his family. He was also a dedicated employee at Blackmer Pump for 40 years, served in the National Guard, was an active member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and served on the board of UCAB. Dale was also instrumental in helping to transform a few ball diamonds into a wonderful Little League complex during his ten years as President of Georgetown Little League. He was overwhelmed and honored when they named the park “Dale E. Wagner Park, Home of Georgetown Little League”.

The family will meet with relatives and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Wednesday, January 2.

A Memorial Service celebrating Dale’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church 1481 Baldwin, Jenison.
