Dale F. Wheeler

WHEELER - Dale F. Wheeler, age 80, of Hastings, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jane Wheeler (DeShaw) and his brother, Bruce Wheeler. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Walt (Vickie) Wheeler; grandchildren, Andy (Sarah), Justin (Becky), and Tyler (Kari); great grandchildren, Emma and Logan; sister, Joyce (Max) Douglas; brother, Wayne Wheeler; Ruby's children, Andy (Joan) Siersma, Ali (Larry) Dutkiewicz, Jeni (Mike) Rein, Ross (Jamie) Siersma, Ben (Maria) Siersma, and Paul (Cate) Siersma; and several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Dale served his country for four years in the US Navy, four years in the Naval Reserve and four years in the Air Force Reserve. He was a member of many organizations including Grand Rapids Lodge #34 F & AM where he served as Master in 1973, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite where he was a holder of the MSA, and Saladin Shrine. Dale was also an active member of the South Kent Sportsman Club.

The funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday at the Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville (East Building) with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Wednesday from 6-9 pm at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville, (West Building) with a Masonic service held at 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation, 1200 Wright Ave, Alma, MI 48801.
