Deb Higbee (Christie)

HIGBEE (CHRISTIE) Deb Higbee, age 59, of Jenison, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 12, 2013. She was a fun-loving lady who had a heart for people and never met someone who she couldn't have a conversation with. Deb will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Tom Higbee; her children, Tom and Julie Higbee and their daughters, Emma and Kaitlyn, Scott and Becky Higbee and their daughters Madeline and Kyleigh; her father, Carl Christie; her brothers, Dan and Pam Christie, Bob Christie, Scott and Kelly Christie; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Ron and Lois Higbee, and Tim and Anita Higbee. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ginger Christie, father- and mother-in-law, Howard and Lena Higbee, and brother- and sister-in-law Bob and Jan Benham. Deb loved being involved at church, she greeted on Sundays and was a part of Victorious Women at Resurrection Life Church on Thursdays. A few of her favorite things were shopping, modeling at Christopher Banks in the mall, going for walks, and riding in fast cars (she had a Boss Mustang when she was a teenager). Deb always had a story to tell and pictures to show anyone she met.

A time for relatives and friends to visit with Deb's family will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM Wednesday at Cook Funeral Home (East Building) in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, October 17, at Resurrection Life Church - 5100 Ivanrest Ave. SW. Rev. Tom Smith will be officiating. Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery.
