I'm sorry to have never had the chance to meet Diane, but I've known Carl since I became involved in bicycling and the Rapid Wheelmen in 2004. Knowing Carl as I do, I know that Diane must have been a very special lady.

What a sweet woman to know and share a camp fire with. As I looked through the picture books you had laid out, one picture in particular caught my attention. Brett was a little boy and Diane was throwing a ball to him. The ball was mid-air. The moment is full of life and intimacy. It reminded me of all the moments as a wife, mother, and friend that Diane 'passed the ball' along. It seems that everyone who was a part of Diane's life caught a piece of her joy and heartfelt kindness. In this time of lonliness for her, let her love hold you tenderly as, I sincerely believe, she gave great amounts to each of you. It is a blessing to have known Diane and to know your family. Diane, your presence is missed but your spirit is strong still.
