Dirk Allen Haight

On August 17, 2023, at the age of 59, Dirk Allen Haight entered the embrace of his Heavenly Father. He is survived by his mother, Marion E. Haight; along with sisters and their spouses Ami (Tom) Giusti, Suzanne (Scott) Bosgraaf, and Kristine (Patrick) Brady. He leaves behind six nieces and nephews Lexie Giusti, Tony Giusti, Christopher (Brittany) Bosgraaf, Danielle Bosgraaf, Elle Brady, and Madeline Brady. Preceding him in death was his father, William W. Haight Jr.; grandparents William W. Haight Sr., Pauline Haight, John Bolthouse, Emily Irene Bolthouse.

Dirk possessed a compassionate and generous spirit, often giving the shirt off his back to help others. He had a special empathy for those in pain and a deep love for his family. As a young boy, he had a passion for collecting Matchbox cars and enjoyed spending his free time participating in motocross. His enduring enthusiasm for drag racing was a lifelong pursuit. His journey began by detailing cars at Williams Cars Inc. during his youth, which eventually blossomed into a career where he independently detailed and sold cars. Undoubtedly, Dirk's role model in life was his father. Their companionship was cherished, and their bond was unbreakably strong. Dirk held a profound affection for God and His teachings. We find solace in the knowledge that he now resides with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2023 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A celebration of Dirk’s life will commence 11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023, with visitation one hour prior, at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building). In honor of Dirk and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Operation Underground Railroad (www.ourrescue.org) that is associated with the 2023 movie, “The Sound of Freedom.” Interment will be at Boynton Cemetery.
