Dixie Jean Meyer-Poortenga

She was preceded in death by her husbands Harry Meyer and Donald Poortenga, and grandson Troy Meyer.

She is survived by her sons Tom (Kathi) Meyer, Tim (Keri) Meyer, Terry (Cheryl) Meyer, Todd (Tami) Meyer, and Ted Meyer; step-sons Dave (Donna) Poortenga, Doug (Carla) Poortenga and Dan Poortenga; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Henrietta Dyke and Myrtle (Gerrit) Huizenga, and brother Gerald (Jean) Veldman; sister-in-law Cornella (Art) Petroelje; special friend Ed Grant, and many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., with Pastor Don VanSlyke officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville (West building), and one hour prior to services on Friday at the Chapel. Interment will be at Georgetown Township Cemetery.
