She was born on July 30, 1933, in Grand Rapids. Dee was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 and a half years, Dr. John M. Jesnek.
She is survived by her children Paul (Joanne) Jesnek, Julie (Ken) Walter, Amy (Tim) Sharpe, Molly Jesnek, and Nancy (Brad) Snyder; grandchildren Anthony, Alicia (Ron), Matthew, AJ (Danielle), Casey (Jerrad), Stephanie (Nick), Kelly (Christopher), Quinn, and Owen; and 11 great‑grandchildren.
Dee was a strong woman with an abundance of energy. Her Catholic faith guided her, and she found beauty in the small details of everyday life.
Dee enjoyed staying active by walking, dancing, bike riding, and playing bridge. She always had a silly song to share, loved food — especially chocolate and a good burned hot dog. Throughout her life, Dee enjoyed volunteering at church, playing tennis, vacationing in Florida, and spending time with friends and family.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Grand Brook Memory Care and Emmanuel Hospice. Their kindness and compassion brought comfort both to Dee and her entire family.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2026 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Douglas Braun presiding. Relatives and friends may meet Dee's family Friday at church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass. A luncheon will follow in Danner Hall.
Contributions in memory of Dee may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church or to Emmanuel Hospice. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their online guestbook.
