Donald O'Connor

O’CONNOR - Mr. Donald O’Connor, age 75, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2007. Don was a veteran of the US Marine Corp and had retired from GM after 42.2 years of service. As an avid horse lover, he earned many trophies and championships, including a national championship. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Nelson, Tom, and Iona.

Don will be deeply missed by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ellen; children, Don Carol O’Connor, Bob Joanne O’Connor, Tim Laura O’Connor, Betty Scott O’Connor-Rogers, Bruce Kathy O’Connor, Brian Denise O’Connor, Bill Kris O’Connor, Laura O’Connor, and Todd Lisa O’Connor; 26 grandchildren; brother and sister, Matthew May O’Connor, and Nora Bill Seidel; sister-in-law, Mary Florence O'Connor; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9669 Kraft Ave., SE, Caledonia, with Rev. Mark Bauer presiding. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may meet Don’s family Monday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th, SW and Tuesday for one hour prior to the Mass at church. A Vigil service will be held Monday evening 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
