Donald “Don” Lee Prawdzik, age 60 of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from complications of his 16-month fight with lung cancer. Don fought a courageous battle to the end, maintaining his grace, compassion, and hard work with the love of family and friends.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda Prawdzik; son, Matthew (Kelsey) Prawdzik; grandchildren Chloe, Lexis, and Cameron Prawdzik; father, Gerald Prawdzik; sister, Kristine (Tony) Wisnieski; brother, Bruce Prawdzik; brothers- and sisters-in-law Ken (Jill) Wehler, Sue (Jim) Hartford, Tim (Bonnie) Wehler, Kelly Baker (Brett Decker), Kim (Dave) Wiersum, Doug (Denise) Wehler; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene M. Prawdzik; brother, Timothy Prawdzik; and nephew, Stefen Hiner.
Don had a long career in the tool and die field working as a machinist. He was forced to retire prematurely from Datum Industries LLC, where he had compiled a vast community of friends. Don also appreciated many outdoor activities. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed deer hunting with his father in Boyne, Michigan, and his son, Matthew, at their cottage in Newaygo, Michigan. He also had a huge love for all types of music, but especially rock and roll; he was an accomplished drummer and, for over 25 years, would “jam out” weekly with close friends. For the last several years, Don spent time at his weekend retreat, his cottage on Hardy Dam, where he would boat, fish, hunt, drive golf carts, have late-night bonfires, and socialize with friends and family.
Ultimately, Don was a family man, always ready to lend a helping hand to one and all, no matter how big or small the task; it never required a request for his help, because he was always the first to step up and offer his assistance. He was the epitome of kindness, “a good soul;” our beloved Don will be deeply missed.
