Donald Eugene Sterken

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Florence Sterken, his wife Jeanne Sterken, and his brother Roland Sterken.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Dan) Akkerman; grandchildren Michael (Kim) Akkerman, Matthew (Tabitha) Akkerman and Michelle Akkerman; five great-grandchildren; his sisters Gloria Sharp and Patsy Pew, and brother Albert J. Sterken.

Don worked in the transportation industry for over 55 years, retiring at the age of 81. Don was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and will be remembered as a loving provider and caregiver.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville, MI. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville, and one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Memorial contributions in memory of Don may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
