Doris Elaine Utting

Doris Utting, age 90 of Jenison, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, July 14, 2023. Doris loved spending time with her family and cherished moments spent with them. She was a great mom and homemaker. She loved sewing, knitting, and crocheting; she donated her countless hats, mittens, and scarves to many local charities. Doris was an avid racing fan and attended many sporting events and after school activities for her sons and grandchildren. Most importantly, she loved her faith and was a founding member of Georgetown United Methodist Church.

Doris is survived by her children Randy (Shari) Utting, Terry (Joni) Utting, Rick (Holly) Utting; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings Harold Macomber, Stan (Lynn) Macomber, Carol (Tom) Johnson, Joel (Rosa) Macomber; and many extended relatives and friends. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Utting Jr.; parents Theodore and Gertrude Macomber; sister, Shirley Corder; and brother, David Macomber.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sunset Manor and Spectrum Hospice for their compassionate care of Mom.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A funeral service celebrating Doris’ life will be held 11a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418 with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
