
Dorothy had been a Grandville resident for forty years and an active member of St. Pius X Church for forty-five years. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren's school and sporting events. She loved traveling in her motor home and was active in the Red Hat Society.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Dorothy M. Jordan Whitcomb; brothers and sisters, Lyle Whitcomb Jr., Jackwlyn Lamkin, Glen Whitcomb, Ron Whitcomb, Kenneth Whitcomb, and Gloria Wagner.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 50 years, Bert; sons, John R. Sharilyn Kowalczyk, Gary L. Jacqueline Kowalczyk, and Scott J. Sharon Kowalczyk; grandchildren, Christopher, Janeen, Rachel, Stuart, Brittney, and Matthew; sisters, Phyllis VanSinger, Joan VanDyke; brother-in-law, R.J. Wagner, and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 1:30 p.m. at St. Pius X Church, 3937 Wilson SW, with Rev. George Darling presiding.
Interment services will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Dorothy's family Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home west building, 4235 Prairie SW.
The Rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 8:30 p.m.
Contributions in memory of Dorothy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
