Dorothy Jane Tamminga

Dorothy Jane Tamminga, age 95, went to be with her Lord Monday, August 12, 2024. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Tamminga; parents Andrew and Reka Sjoerdsma; sisters Ann Kunz, Alyce Holscher; brother, Andy Sjoerdsma; and sister-in-law, Julie Sjoerdsma. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Judith (Jim) Ponstine, Donald (Jenny) Tamminga, Dale Tamminga, and Nancy (Tom) Kremer; grandchildren Mark (Laura) Ponstine, Scott (Betsy) Ponstine, Lisa (Mark) Dykstra, Emily Tamminga, Kevin (Ethel) Tamminga, Joshua (Katrina) Tamminga, Daniel (Natalie) Tamminga, Timothy (Brittany) Tamminga, Jodi Tamminga, Mali Jane Tamminga, Kylee (Matt) LaDuke, Travis (Susan) Tamminga, Troy (Julie) Tamminga, Emily (Skylar) Rinehart, Bethany (Kevin) Belfield, Daniel (Marissa) Kremer, David (Anna) Kremer, Lydia (Matt) Tabke, and Anna (Luke) Jacques; 40 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also missing her are her sister, Claire Chaffee; brother, Richard (Mary) Sjoerdsma; sister-in-law, Millie Dekker; brother-in-law, Joel Tamminga; along with many nieces and nephews.

A private family burial will take place Friday morning, August 16, 2024. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for a celebration of Dorothy’s life at noon Friday, August 16 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A luncheon and time to visit with family will follow. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery.
