Douglas Janssens

JANSSENS-Douglas (Doug) Janssens passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Faith Hospice. Doug was born in 1942 the son of Douglas and Myrtle (Nill) Janssens of Muskegon. His parents predeceased him. He was raised in Wolf Lake. Doug's first marriage ended in divorce but was blessed with two daughters. He worked at Alloytek (Jervis Corp) for 28 years then worked security at Grandville Public Schools. Doug is survived by his wife of 31 years Patricia (Pat) Vogg Janssens of North Dorr; his daughters Pamela Willea and Jim Humphreys and her two sons Ryan and Travis of Muskegon and Cammy and M.R. Maxwell and their children Joshua, Joseph and Jasmine of Waynesville, MO. He also leaves his sister Judith and Ron Reilly of Elkhart, IN and their children and grandchildren; his aunt Carole Sue Beesham of Muskegon also Pat's brothers Doug and Judy Vogg of Sykesville, MD their children and grandchildren and Vinny and Robin Vogg of Rockford and their daughters.

When he was able he enjoyed hunting, cutting wood, riding his Harley and chatting on the CB. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge of Dorr, the NRA and the HOGS. He loved spending time with his family, his canine friends and socializing with his buddies. A memorial service will be held 1 pm Friday at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center, 2067 84 St. with Pastor Becky Ebb-Speese officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday 6 pm to 8 pm at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center and one hour prior to services Friday.
