Duane worked at General Motors with my late husband,Fred Cutler .Duane took our family

I always knew Duane to be one of the most sincerely kind hearted, generous and thoughtful people I have ever had the pleasure to know. 
When I had just completed my 2nd stem cell transplant, and was too sick to even eat, much less talk, Duane called me from his own hospital bed in a building a hundred yards away from Lemmon-Holton where I was. I could tell from the weakness in his own voice that he was not feeling that great either, but he was still thoughtful enough to check on me since we often compared our treatments and experiences even though not fighting the same (type) of cancer.  Indeed, this kind of thoughtfulness had a lot to do with why he is loved by so many, and why he will be so dearly missed.

My friend Duane was surely one of the most devoted fathers I have ever known. He always managed to keep a positive attitude and lift up others around him. He was also a man familiar with “pain” of all kinds but managed to pull through it with kindness still in his heart. He will be missed by all who knew him. May God bless him and his family forever.

Duane was one of the most generous, incredible human beings I have ever met. He was always willing to help whenever you needed anything and he would always make you feel good about yourself. He truly will be missed by all the many lives he’s has touched.

So many great memories of Duane. He had such an energy that everyone loved.  He was kind yet firm in his beliefs.  His love of his family, friends and Spartans was no secret.   Many hugs and prayers to all the lives Duane touched. He will definitely be missed at the ball parks, gymnasiums and gatherings.

I became friends with Duane through Grand Buick!  He helped me buy several cars- he’d patiently work to get me the price I wanted.  He’d often sit and talk about his family with me.  He was so proud of all of you.

He fought a good, long fight with courage and such a positive example.

I’m so sorry for his loss and will miss him as my car guy.  May you find peace and comfort in your memories!!!
