
Edith was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 22, 1912, the daughter of Frank Frederick William Wipper and his wife Mable Lodemia Sanderson. On May 9, 1933, at her brothers’ apartment in Lansing, Michigan, she was married by her father to Dale Hiram Sheren, who preceded her in death in 1976.
Also preceding her in death were her infant son Frederick Glenn; her brother John Wipper of Lansing; and her sister Ruth Wipper Sater of California.
She is survived by sister, Mrs. Irene Wipper Call of California; her son and daughter-in-law, Harvey Sue Sheren of Bonita Springs, Florida; and her son and daughter-in-law, Lynn Sandra Sheren of Jenison.
Also surviving are five grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Julie Sheren of Antioch, Illinois; Courtney Brian Bowers of Vero Beach; Florida, Sarah Dirk Weeldreyer of Jenison; Christine Sheren of Jenison; and Mark Jennifer Sheren of Jenison; five great grandchildren, Nicholas and Kelsi Sheren; and Karsten, Hannah and Grace Weeldreyer; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Edith was a kind and loving Christian woman, who expressed that love to all she met, especially through her civic involvement.
She also greatly enjoyed watching her family grow and participating in their activities.
Aviation played a major role in Edith’s life as she and her husband were part owners of the former Davis Airport in East Lansing and operated Sheren Aviation for 45 years.
Edith managed the airport until four years ago when she moved to Jenison to be near her family.
She was also past officer and member of the Rural Missionary Society, a Christian charitable organization in East Lansing.
Friends and family may meet with the immediate family on Wednesday, July 2, from 11 to 12 noon in the narthex at Jamestown Baptist Church, 472 Quincy Street, Hudsonville, Michigan.
The funeral service will be held at the church at 12 noon on Wednesday, with the Rev. James Yerke officiating.
A light luncheon will follow at the church.
Interment will be at the Delta Center Cemetery, Delta Township, Eaton County, Michigan at 3:30 p.m.
