Eileen Hovey

Eileen Hovey, age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Hovey; her parents Charles and Marvel Morrissey; sister Jane (Ted) Vento; and brother Mike (Anita) Morrissey.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Ellen (Geoffrey) Goodyear; grandchildren Alex Goodyear and Lauren Goodyear; nieces Diane (Michael) Rundquist and Kathy (Jim) Kerrigan; and many extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Brittany Simonelli for her care and compassion. A special thank you to Eileen’s dear friends and family in Florida who gave her so much love and support over the past 25 years.

Eileen was an avid golfer, bowler and seamstress. She had a passion for music and sang with a local quartet named, “The Twinighters.” She loved spending time with her family, always cooking and hosting family gatherings. She had a servant’s heart and donated a lot of her time to her church, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church of Muskegon.

Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Lebanon Lutheran Church, 1101 S. Mears Ave., Whitehall, MI 49462 with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service.

In memory of Eileen and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
