Elaine Eleanor (Ellis) Champion, 82 years old, beloved wife of Daniel Ruiz Champion, died at her home in Wyoming, Michigan, on June 4, 2018 after an extended illness. Elaine was born on February 19, 1936 to Peter and Lempi (nee Wiideman) Ellis in Marquette, Michigan; graduated from high school in Munising, Michigan in 1953; and married the only love of her life on August 4, 1956 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Elaine enjoyed traveling, spending time on the shore of Lake Superior, and visiting with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Peter (Ann) Ellis and Einar (Helen) Ellis. Elaine is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years; her children Anita (Mitchell) Champion-Burks, Daniel (Monica) Champion, and Dennis Champion; her sister, Rose Moulds; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Per Elaine's wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
