

Elaine will be remembered by her loving husband of 61 years, Harvey Dykema; her children, Doug (Leah) Dykema, Dale (Deb) Dykema, Randy (Michelle) Dykema; her grandchildren, Rev. Brian (Sarah), David (Laurel), Caleb, Abby (Matt), Jesse, Lydia, Moriah, Alivia, Aaron, Avery; her precious great-granddaughter, Bayla; her siblings, Larry (Mary Lou) Christian, Janice (Fred) Souffrou; her siblings-in-law, Arlene Christian, Tressa Behrens, Kenneth (Bonnie) Dykema, Harriet (Harvey) Van Dyke, Jane (Larry) Kerkstra, Gordon (Gloria) Dykema; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Dorothy (Alles) Christian and brother, Richard Christian in 2012.
Elaine was a faithful member of First Reformed Church of Byron Center for her whole life. She had a wonderful gift for playing the piano and teaching music that she shared with so many, bringing joy and comfort. Many students went on to careers in music.
A time with relatives and friends to visit with Elaine's family will be held from 2 to 5 PM Saturday, September 26, at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 - 84th St. SW. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Sunday, September 27, at First Reformed Church in Byron Center, 8425 Byron Center Ave. SW. Dr. Peter Van Elderen, Pastor Bill Fernhout and her grandson, Rev. Brian Dykema will be officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery.
